3/19/2023 0 Comments Rc loot council![]() We used to council the old fashioned way, with whispers and deliberation in O Chat. My guild used Loot Council in Wrath, then we had a brief stint with DKP that was a disaster, and from Cata until now we've been Loot Council. It speeds up loot distribution by probably 200%. ![]() You could also keep this information public on guild forum or google sheets.ĮPGP lootmaster is still useful even if you don't use EPGP, just so people can click a button if they want an item and put in a comment if they want. Keep track of who got what loot and when, so you don't end up shafting somebody for weeks, even if unintentionally. The general criteria are performance, size of upgrade and reliability/attendance, but how heavily you value each one is probably dependent on your guild's culture. I guess you could do 4 permanent officers + 1 random raider. Having a spot rotate sounds interesting, although I've never seen it done. I'd say you need an odd number of people so you can always get a clear vote if it comes to an argument. I've never actually been part of a loot council (well, on a couple occasions as a substitute.), but this is from a perspective of a raider who has raided with both good and bad loot councils: If all works well, most of the raiders are on par in terms of ilvl with each other, especially core ones and there's no favouritism between officers, council members and regular raiders. It only helps the raid get an easier kill for the following week. Lastly, but equally important: Tier set completion, we try to prioritize players who already has 1 or 3 piece of tier bonus in order to complete them. RCLootCouncil has a setting for this.Ĭouncil members should be generally aware the boost each class/spec gets with tier bonuses/trinket. This is where having 3 to 5 council members is good, it's usually a majority vote and rarely a landslide vote to anyone.Ĭouncil members aren't allowed to vote for themselves. If multiple people has selected BiS, then the criteria will depend on their raid performance, attendance, loot received and how big of an upgrade it will be for them compared to the rest. But no officer will ever get first dibs over core raiders and trials. We ignore ranks, but do recognize seniority to an extent. We also use the BestInSlot addon to keep track. Everyone must be aware of their own BiS list. So at any one time we'll have: 3 officers and 2 regular raiders not necessarily on a rotation, but on a priority of who happens to be online and seniority.īest in slot > Main Spec > Off Spec > everything else can be rolled for (i.e. We use static members who are generally trusted by everyone and try our best to make sure each token and armor types are represented. With regards to council members, we use between 3 or 5 (keeping it at odd number is good to help settle ties) depending on number of players in raid and who is available. This is very important, we just mentioned the possibility of switching to loot council before the raid and explained our reasons, everyone agreed it was the best path and we switched our loot rules for the next raid. You need to be upfront with how you'll handle it, who can be in the LC and have a guild meeting before to see which criteria you want for your guild. Everyone else has been an adult about it. Our guild switched to using RCLootCouncil at the start of BRF and we've only ever received 1 complain which was from a trial who has been briefed of the rules but ultimately left due to other reasons. What's your workflow for distributing an item? Which addons do you use and why? What are your guidelines for loot distribution, e.g. I'm aware loot council has a big potential for drama, so: How to make a loot council as transparent as possible? (I saw an Asmongold video where he recommended rotating a spot in the council so everyone is part of it at some time.) How to best alleviate a raider's concerns if he/she feels disadvantaged? Of how many members should the loot council consist? Should we assign replacements if someone is absent from a raid? After which criteria should we choose people for the council? What are possible signs that someone is abusing his position in the council? Obviously we're going to consult our raiders for their preferences but I'm also asking here for advice so we can implement the best possible system. The thing is: despite raiding for years I've never been in a raid with loot council so personally have zero experience on the matter. Until now we were using a heavily modified EPGP for loot distribution but most of our raiders requested a switch to loot council which we're now planning to do in the near future.
